Reluctant Reader Book Club
June 16, 30, July 14, 28 | 6-7pm
Tired of boring books? Join a summer reading experience designed for people who want to read, but can’t bring themselves to do it alone!
This club is all about fast-paced, and gripping stories that grab your attention and don’t let go. Over the course of the summer, we’ll read and discuss one high-interest short horror story and choose one novel.
This is a hybrid book club: first and last meetings will be in-person (snacks provided!), middle two meetings will take place on Zoom.

What is City School? It’s a bunch of teens (and a couple of moderately responsible adults) wandering around Los Angeles exploring a new neighborhood each week. Adults will support teens with skills they want to learn – researching, documenting, interviewing, navigating, and turning experiences into stories, videos, or zines. Loosely structured, a lot of fun, and a little messy. Metro TAP card required. Pack a lunch or bring money for food.

1 week, 1 house, 20 teens, and very few rules. A team of alternative educators host an experimental camp where (almost) anything can happen. Graffiti, horror movies, a snake, comic books, rock and roll, junk food, fire, kickboxing, video games, would you rather, metaphysics, maybe a rat, and definitely a trampoline. Pack a lunch or bring money for food.
